Our Sheet Rubber Manufacturing Process

The process begins with our experienced sales representatives working with your business in order to assist in product development. Once the product’s needs, applications, and timeline has been determined, the request is sent to our Research & Development Lab. In our Research and Development Lab, our team of chemists and engineers will create a custom formulation that will best fit the determined requirements. Our commitment to research and formulation development has kept us at the leading edge of rubber technological innovation.

This formulation is then sent to our In House Mixing undergoes the first Quality Assurance Check.

Our mixing team receives the new formula and begins to carefully prepare the material for mixing. All formulas is mixed with our Banbury© machine and thoroughly tested before it is used in manufacturing in order to make sure that we are delivering excellence in quality. Our testing facility checks all physicals of the batch in order to ensure that you receive excellence in quality. After the rubber compound batch has been formulated, mixed, and tested, it is now able to move to our compound and mix stock room to begin the manufacturing process.

The rubber material or stock, is taken to a horizontal mill where it is prepared to enter the vertical calendering machine. The mill breaks down the stock into smaller pieces which allows the calendering process to be executed smoothly and in an efficient manner. The milled stock is then inserted into the vertical calendering machine where our operators adjust the machine in order to create a specific product that will fulfill your application. The calendered sheet is now transferred to the pre-vulcanization preparations area.

The uncured rubber is then subjected to a number of different preparation procedures in order to ensure that this final product is high quality. This preparation includes setting the finish style upon the material, our finishes include smooth, rough, lined, and more.

The prepared sheet rubber is placed into an Autoclave where it undergoes vulcanization. This process allows for the rubber molecules to cross link ensuring that the rubber retains its shape indefinitely. In the autoclave, precisely measured amounts of heat and pressure are applied to the rubber. Our team is constantly aware of how much time and pressure is needed for each product.

WARCO offers a number of different services to certified rubber in order to create the most optimal product. These services include stenciling, company branding implementation, division of the sheets (coils) , edge trimming, and much more.

At this point, our packaging and shipping department prepares the rubber for transport. Each of our products are packed with extreme care and precision in order to ensure that your product is delivered to you in pristine condition. These products are given to our partners within the transportation industry and they deliver directly to wherever your desire.
